Did you know that sometimes God hides things from us until we get spiritually “fit”?

But sometimes even when we are spiritually “up to par,” He wants us to not share anything He has revealed until the Son of Man is risen within us.

He told the disciples that they should tell no man what they had seen till the Son of Man had risen from the dead. (Mark 9:9)

After Jesus rose from the dead, things began to make sense to the disciples, especially after they had been baptized with the Holy Spirit and with power. Then they could reveal the things Jesus had shared with them with authority and power.

We need authority and Holy Spirit power if we are to share the deep things of God. Also, there must be communion with Jesus, as the risen Savior, before a particular truth can be shared.

He also said, “I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.” John 16:12

Why this secrecy? Sometimes when we reveal deep spiritual things to people, it is like throwing pearls before swine. It just boomerangs and does more damage than good, for the pearls we speak will be lost or destroyed. If the people are not ready, they often think they know it all and cannot hear the truth.

Many years ago before I was married I visited my relatives in Holland. The Lord had instructed me not to talk to one of my brothers about spiritual things. Whenever I saw Harm (his name) we conversed about everything except God. This process continued for about three weeks. One day before I was to depart for the USA, Harm asked me what I believed and what my relationship with God was all about. Had I forced things on him, Harm would not have been ready.

God cannot reveal anything to us if we do not have His Spirit to guide us into all truth.

Sometimes God wants to be very intimate with us and share His secrets. It really is not any of our business to blab those secrets to others, for they are meant just for us.  We then need to be like a child by letting Him hold us close to Him as He whispers His sweet words to us–words of comfort, revelation and revival.

The Father’s love

I hear Jesus say, “Do not be afraid My child to let Me make you strong in my resurrection power. Come to Me like a child and lean on My shoulder. I will let you know “the why’s and the wherefore’s” when I know you are ready. Trust Me. Trust Me and we will walk this journey together.”
