Is Your Father Hidden?

Do we restrict God’s work or hide His manifestation in our life?

There was a time in my life I strictly was dealing with Jesus–He was my best friend. But, who was Father God? And was it even necessary to “have Him around?” Did I really need a connection with God? “After all,” I thought, “I can do all things through Christ, so…why do I need Father God”?

Well, here is why. Even Jesus could not do, say or be anything without His Father. Anything He did was only because He was connected to the Father, heart to heart.

The Father should be as free to manifest Himself in us as He was in His Son. Any impediment in me can limit God from becoming my true Father.

Throughout the years I have been made deeply aware of the fact that only through recognizing Father God as the lover of my soul can I “show off” the love of Jesus. It is through the work of the Holy Spirit’s truth that we begin to be broken and recognize that our sufficiency is of God the Father and nothing else.

Why was it so hard for me to trust the heart of God? Because I never knew what is was to be loved by an earthly father. Consequently, I could not make a connection to a heavenly Father. Therefore, I became independent and became a friend of Jesus, for I was lonely and needed a friend. I did not know that one really cannot separate the Two.

Many times there are blocks that cause us to stumble and hold us back from Father’s love. They normally are an offence we have in our inner self toward our earthly fathers or father figures. We just cannot step over them, pretending they are not there. These obstacles need to be removed from us through divine intervention and by us forgiving the offender. Thus, God will clear the blocks in our way. This takes brokenness on our part which leads us to the heart of the Father through the power of the Holy Spirit. It is only through the Spirit’s power we can even begin to forgive the many offenses we experience in life.

This world is void of true loving fathers who lay down their life for their children, simply because they themselves are empty of the Father’s love. How deeply God must be grieved over this.

If Jesus needed His Father, how much more do we? No wonder the last verse of the Old Testament declares that God will bind the hearts of the fathers to the children and the children to the fathers, else there will be a curse in the land.

Are you bonded to your Father?

Father God gave all He had and turned His back on His Son. He watched Him die and laid on His very Son our deepest darkness, sickness and sin. Jesus was beaten within an inch of His life and the Father refused to help Him. God turned His back on His beloved and let Him die on His own—all for our benefit. And we do not even recognize Him as our Father, precious Savior of the world Who pours out His Spirit into our hearts. How can that be? It is LOVE manifested.

I hear Jesus say, “The Father’s arms are open wide to receive you, for I paid the price for your freedom. Let His Spirit show you His love. All you need to do is ask.”
