Did you know that we can block God from being fruitful and blessed in our life?
I hear you say:” God can do anything He wants.” No, there are several things He cannot do. God cannot lie for one thing. He also cannot make choices that we should make, else we would be like robots.
If we choose to react to difficulties in a negative way God is blocked to bless us spiritually. We even block the church from blossoming when we hang on to our own rights and wishes.
However, there are times that God seems to hide from us as we walk through the wilderness not experiencing His presence. Could it be that He may be training us to be tenacious and not be spiritual lazy.
There is a place of refuge in Him in times of difficulty where we can rejoice in the most awful circumstances if we choose to. In this place we become free from ourselves and become joined to His will: desiring only what He desires that is what He has desired for all eternity.
Habakkuk 3:17-19 says, “Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vines; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in the Lord! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation! The Sovereign Lord is my strength! He makes me as surefooted as a deer. He gives me the speed of a deer.”
If your love for Him is pure you will love Him as much on “Mount Calvary”, the place of suffering as on Mount Tabor where He was gloriously transfigured.
We will never block God from pouring out His blessings on us when we learn that everything that happens to us, be it in the smallest detail or ever so bad, He works it out for our good in the end if we let Him. If not….than we keep His Hands tied from pouring His favor on us.
“Choose you this day.”
You may feel your boat is about to turn over as the sea of difficulties swallow you up.
I hear Jesus say,” This storm will make you strong and secure in Me, for you will know that I am still the Captain of your ship and I am still in control if you choose Me and surrender your boat to Me. Than I will not hold back My strength from you to uphold you as you travel the seas of life.”
