Have you ever felt like a barren person not producing much, if any, fruit in God’s Kingdom?

I know I have. Sometimes women that cannot bear children feel as though life is empty and barren.

If you do not have any spiritual fruit (children) it can be pretty dry–even a feeling of uselessness.

The Lord promises that the barren woman can have even more fruit (or children) than she who is “married.” One of the requirements is that in spite of our barrenness we are joyful in Him and trust Him regardless of the outcome of our “children.”

1“Shout for joy, O barren one, you who have borne no child; Break forth into joyful shouting and cry aloud, you who have not travailed; For the sons of the desolate one will be more numerous Than the sons of the married woman,” says the LORD. Isaiah 54:1

May be for years you have felt desolate and empty, but God wants you to “shout for joy.” Did you hear that? Not just a small whisper or song, but a SHOUT.!!

You will see how God will bless you if you are content with where you are, trust Him and walk in His Joy. You will increase in your ability to trust for the impossible, for you know that there is nothing within your own soul that can make you fruitful in abundance. But He can!!

However, in the next verse we have some instructions to follow if we are to decrease our barrenness and increase His fruit in us.

2 “Enlarge the place of your tent; Stretch out the curtains of your dwellings, spare not; Lengthen your cords And strengthen your pegs…” Isaiah 54:2

Here are the instructions:

  1. Start building His Kingdom in you and making the place you serve larger.
  2. Make your place of hiding behind His curtain larger, meaning, do not reveal everything God personally shows you. Do not expose what is private between you and Him.
  3. Don’t withhold on your relationship with God, skimping time with Him.
  4. Strengthen your relationship with Him and His children and go deep into Him.

img_3302-2I can hear Jesus say, “As you shout unto Me for the joy of who I have made you to be, I will come and bless you to the measure of being able to let Me have you walk on water. To go way beyond your measurements of limitations. Your abundance will be more than those who seemingly have it all together. So be still and rejoice.”
